  Practical for gardening and comfortable

  Have been wearing Birkenstocks for a few years now and this is the 2nd pair of EVA ones I've bought. The sizing is the same as for the standard ones. I am a size 5 in most shoes but take a 37 in Birkenstock, which is sometimes advertised as 4 or as 4.5. UK size 5 will be a size 38, which is my usual continental size, so think Birkenstocks just come up a bit larger than most brands. The first pair I bought in a shop where I could try them on, so knew I was 37 in these. I think Birkenstock's website has a sizing guide, if you're unsure about your size in these or any other Birkenstocks (I find the different ones I've tried to be consistent size-wise, so am a 37 in all styles). I find all Birkenstocks I've tried so far very comfortable, although I prefer the styles like these with more than one strap, as they don't "flop" so much when walking. I like the EVA ones because waterproof for gardening etc. I've been wearing the last pair I bought more or less every day around the house and garden, and have washed them quite a lot under hot water, sometimes using soap or detergent, and they lasted 10 months. Now, the front straps are breaking away from the shoe bed, and the shoe bed is starting to crack there, too, where you bend them to walk, so bought a new pair. The only thing I find with the EVA ones is that they come off a bit more easily, so I have to tighten the straps more than you're supposed to. I prefer mine a bit tighter anyway - according to Birkenstock, the straps should be loose enough to let most of your sole rise from the shoe bed when walking. You're supposed to grip the shoe bed with your toes. but that doesn't seem to work too well for me - they say you're supposed to get used to it, but even after weeks, I still found myself suddenly loosing a shoe even with the normal cork sole ones, and this is a bit more so with these, probably because they're a bit less flexible than the cork soles. But this is a minor issue and they're still very comfortable. For the price, I find these last well (you can't expect EVA shoes to last forever), and are practical for when you want waterproof shoes/sandals. I will definitely buy another pair when these wear out, and would recommend.

  Sadly, very loud fart squeaking which never went away

  I hate to be critical, especially as I was excited that these were a new vegan style of birkies.But honestly I could never wear them out in public as the left one made a mega loud fart sounds every step I took! Not just a squeaky shoe sound, they are plastic so it genuinely sounds like a fart!Other people I new had them told me there's did the same for a long time but then gradually got less noticeable as they got broken in, but mine never stopped.Also they really rubbed and hurt the sides of my feet.So I wish I could recommend them for their veganability! But really they weren't wearable for me even after 6 moths of hoping they break in and stop the fartiness, alas.

  They run about a size larger than stated

  I wear between a 5 and a 6 depending on the shoe. Today I'm wearing a pair of size 6 boots (and you can see the footbed is the same size as the pair of size 5s Ive bought. I've ordered a pair of 5 (38) in these, but reckon I could have gone down to a 4.5 or even a 4 (you can see the space I have at the toe, it's quite a lot). The width fitting is regular, which I am, so no issues there.

  I did not receive the birks pictured in the items description tho I really don't mind and absolutely love the ones I got. The ones I got have a brown, leather sole and they're really nice, comfortable and good quality. Tho for someone else that might be an inconvenience.

  If you like Birkenstocks, then buy these.

  I've always had leather Birkenstocks in the past, and I am just as happy with this non-leather alternative. They don't 'mold' to your feet as well which might be important to some people. The best things about these is that they are not made from animal products, they are super lightweight, they have retained the iconic Birkenstock look, quality and comfort, and they are waterproof. If you like Birkenstocks, then buy these. As always with Birkenstocks, always 'size down' as they are large fitting.

  Farty noises!

  After reading another review about "fart noises" it all made sense and I completely had the same thing! Maybe because they are a narrow fit it created a suction under the arch of my foot.Sadly didn't think much of them in the sense of the wow factor so have sent them back. Super lightweight and probably would have been comfy if standard fit.Might go for the original Cork style ones instead.

  Lovely shoes but if u have wide feet might be still too narrow I but berkenstoks cause I have wide feet but after 1 hour of wearing them started to rub and hurt feet .... I put them on the largest hole on buckle ... my daughter loves hers ..... I’m still going to try amd wear them to see if they stretch a bit .... the foot bed is a lovely berkinstok one so that’s all good .... worth buying the named ones as they look rather nice !!!!

  The colour is pretty much what it is like on the photo

  I bought these to wear for holiday, however, I decided to try them out first. The size fits perfectly well. The colour is pretty much what it is like on the photo, like a Khaki green. I would love to give it more stars, but after wearing them for a few hours, I didn't find them as comfortable as I should do. I have owned about 10 or more Birks, and I know this isn't expensive compared to the non plastic ones. I guess I expected it to be a little more comfortable. Maybe these are for pool shoes only rather than for walking for an hour.

  I take a size 5-6 depending on make of shoe. After reading reviews I ordered a size 5 expecting a reasonably snug fit. Found the sandals are actually too long & more like a 6 on me. Disappointed as they are quite expensive.

  Extremely comfortable and versatile

  So far I have only tried these on as unfortunately the weather turned after I received them. However, I am extremely happy with the fit and how comfortable they feel walking around the house. I bought them and can imagine they would be an extremely practical sandal for holidays - being able to walk around during the day, on the beach and even in the evening - can't wait to try this out.
