The heel sinks into the soft MBT sensor when you step on it. This activates the holding muscles, which can atrophy during passive walking with normal shoes. The posture becomes more upright, tension can be released and the back and joints are relieved.

The positive effects of MBT are: - Can improve balance - Can optimize posture - Can improve venous function - Can reduce lumbar pain - Can increase muscle activity and joint stability.

The geometry of the sole has the strongest rounding. The height of the midsole is medium, while the balancing area is very pronounced. The sole has increased instability. They are particularly suitable for ambitious athletes who strive for a high level of muscle activity. Wearing these MBT shoes is not recommended for beginners. The extreme rounding requires the most practice, but also achieves the greatest effects.

MBT Casual models are perfect for the recreational person who wants to do something for body and well-being. With MBTs every step becomes a little fitness exercise. Even after many hours on your feet you can pursue your leisure activities in a relaxed way.

Upper material: Smooth Leather, Inner material: Leather, Sole material: Synthetic, Insole: Textile

Leather Sandals Three Velcro straps for improved fit. Cushioned footbed. Helps improve posture, activate muscles and reduce lower back pain.

Lovely but narrow (warning MBT soles crumble in few years)
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 17 May 2020
Sized for narrow feet .. Not sized for wide feet. Very stylish for an MBT sandal but for me too narrow. I got 6.5 (40) which is my normal sandal size but it is long for my foot , so guess the sizing is on the big side in length but sizing small width wise : too narrow. .. they’d be ok for people with narrow feet but for people with wide feet you have to buy ones that are too long for optimum MBT fit recommendation ( MBT say heel of foot should be right at back of sole of sandal ) . I think they will be ok as leather will probably stretch a little over my mid foot (but my feet will then hang over sides a little, but with wide feet I often have to put up with this in sandals.. I don’t want to go up a size as then the excess space at the ends will be even longer) so my initial reaction is to keep them as I like them , and best of the MBTs Sandals I’ve tried so far and hopefully MBT action will be good enough even though heel will not be right at back of shoe, as recommended. Birkenstock’s are only shoes wide enough but MBTs help my posture, back and knees .Hope this review helps people with wide feet!!! (Also warning on MBT soles ..they crumble after 2-3 years ..apparently PU cushioning used in lots of comfort/sport shoes absorbs water and crumbles over a few years depending on humidity) . They should use different material.. but not in their interest to make long lasting shoes so may not happen unfortunately )

Great for my knees and bottom!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 19 December 2013
I really like MBT shoes and find them excellent for walking around in during the summer months. They help my posture and ease the discomfort in my knees. These sandals are as comfy as ever and the heel strap means that they will be safe to walk in on uneven ground. They are reputed to firm up your bottom muscles- I can't swear to this although I can certainly feel the muscles working when I walk in them.

I'm in Love with my MBT's
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 26 February 2013
My feet are very painful due to my job standing, wear and tear and my age so when I heard about MTB's as I had tried most things I could not loose.I have tried the MTB's shoes in the shops but as summer is on the way I thought I would try sandles first. They fit perfect, the straps are first class not atall bulky and made in good quality leather. When wearing then again they just fit your feet perfectly. You feel as you are walking on air and looks great. I was expecting to look more clumpy but was pleasantly surprised to see how good they looked. They are not cheap so I will look after them but if it means I can walk I will be buying my winter MTB's.I have not worn them much yet BUT I am really looking forward to my summer

  • Is this brown or red, description states brown but pictures show red Kilburi.
I guess this shoe is red. I ordered brown and they were much darker and definitely brown in the picture, but that was a year or so ago.
