Very disappointed as Merrell footwear are fabulous, comfortable, hard wearing & usually a fantastic fit. Reluctantly returned. These Mahana sandals very nice looking & comfortable but for me (size 7) just slightly too small.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 23 April 2019Weird...I have a pair of the Mahana backstrap sandals which I like, so I thought I would try these Mahana slides. Oddly, the pair I was sent (even though they were the correct size and made in the same country as my other ones) were a full inch longer in the footbed, so were like a 7 and not a 6. The cork inner sole was a different colour too, much darker. I'm going to send them back and try again.It's good to see Merrell making decent sandals again out of good materials. I was dubious about the 'cork' sole/lining as it doesn't look like cork, does it? I hate microfibre linings and prefer leather, it's better for your feet, lasts longer and doesn't pong like man made linings. In fact I contacted Merrell about this, and they told me it was cork backed with polyester. So it might be a little sweaty - we will have to see.I still have my beloved Merrell Henna sandals which I have worn every summer for the last 6 years...yes they are getting pretty beat up now, and I will be heartbroken when they finally die and go to sandal heaven. I do wish Merrell would make something similar again; wonderful leather upper and linings, perfect comfort from the day you put them on and start clocking up the miles - plus they make you look like a Greek goddess.
