Hans J. Wegner designed the very first model of the Wishbone Chair exclusively for Carl Hansen & Søn in 1949, since then this iconic chair has been in continuous production since its introduction in 1950.

This special-edition CH24 Soft Wishbone Chair is a reimagining of the iconic chair with an irresistible matte finish. Originally designed by Hans J. Wegner for Carl Hansen & Søn in 1949, this colourful edition acts as a gentle counterpart to the original. Like the classic Wishbone Chair, there are over 100 steps involved in its creation. This includes the seat, which takes skilled craftspeople an hour to weave and calls for over 120 meters of paper cord.

Although known for his work in wood throughout his career, Hans J. Wegner often explored the limits and potential of other materials. The CH88T Dining Chair is one such example. The design was initially developed by Wegner as a prototype with coloured legs. It was displayed at the international Helsingborg Exhibition in Sweden in 1955. Decades later, Carl Hansen & Søn put the chair into production in celebration of the 2014 centennial of Wegner’s birth. The CH88T is versatile, elegant and functional. Its convenient stackable design seamlessly joins wood and industrial steel, showcasing Wegner’s skill in lending softness to minimalist forms. The steel frame supports an oval wooden seat and steam-bent backrest with elegantly upturned ends forming a natural resting place for the forearms.

An iconic Hans J. Wegner design, the CH25 Armchair is clean and simple in its distinctive shape. Originally constructed in 1950, the chair was considered revolutionary at the time. The woven paper cord used on the backrest and seat, a replacement for seagrass developed during World War II, had never been used in furniture design before. Nevertheless, the look of the material and it’s non-stretching and optimal durability make this piece fascinating from all angles. Typically, it takes a skilled craftsman around ten hours and approximately 400 metres of paper cord to complete one seat and backrest by hand. Using a particular technique that resembles weaving, the expert craftsmanship is visible on both sides of the low reclining backrest. Crafted with attention, care and delicacy, it’s the perfect chair for rest and relaxation.

Hans J. Wegner designed the CH78 Lounge Chair in 1954 for Carl Hansen & Søn. The chair is affectionately nicknamed the Mama Bear Chair thanks to its comfortable curved design that invites you into its warm embrace. It is cleverly designed to be both supportive and comfortable, offering additional ergonomic support for the neck and back. Each one is expertly handcrafted by skilled artisans and completed with signature wooden armrests and legs.

The OW149 Colonial Armchair was designed by Ole Wanscher in 1959. As a minimalist, Wanscher used slim and refined proportions to create a striking piece. Yet despite its slender dimensions, its impeccably sturdy with strength lying in its carefully designed bracing. Sophisticated and defined, the design boasts signature slightly curved armrests that rise to a point before taking a turn downwood. While the roundwood timber front and back legs curve gently outward for adding stability and refinement. A modern design with historical roots, it makes the perfect addition to contemporary homes.

Moulded to form to the natural contours of the user, the winged curvature of the seat not only provides an elegant swooping line, but also ample comfort and support.Each of the wonderfully bowed legs are given rounded indentation along both sides with discreet rubber guards in place to prevent friction between the base the frame.Made from lacquered ash wood, this angular chair is available in a range or bright or muted tones that suit modern and vintage inspired interiors.

First produced in 1955, the Series 7 3107 Chair is the culmination of architect and designer Arne Jacobsen’s experimentation with pressure moulded, laminated furniture. The swooping curves along the backrest mirror those of the seat, while a pinched, cutaway waistline on the lower back provides a graceful silhouette. Resting on dainty, but highly strong, chromed tubular steel legs this space-age design can be easily stacked. To finish, a beautifully textured lacquer is applied in a variety of colours.

Created by Spanish designer Jaime Hayon for Fritz Hansen, the Fri Lounge Chair is upholstered in bold upholstery. The armchair is incredibly comfortable thanks to the soft foam backrest that is specially designed for ergonomics. Brushed aluminium legs complete the design and lend it a modern aesthetic.
