Vitra Standard Sp Chair Deep Black/ Japanese Red
GBP 479.00
A man of many talents, Jean Prouvé brought his combined skills as an architect, engineer and industrial designer to the Standard Chair.First produced in 1934, the frame gets its unique shape from a clever weight distribution design, which is based on the understanding that the back legs of a chair take most of the upper body weight of the user.Contrasting the thin tubular legs at the front of the design with the angular back, the frame is finished in a soft powder coating with a choice of contemporary shades. To complete this classic modernist chair, two plastic moulded sheets form the curved backrest and flat seat simply bolting onto the steel frame to add to the Sim’s industrial feel.
Vitra Panton Chair Deep Black New Height
GBP 275.00
First designed in 1963, it would take another four years before Verner Panton would see his chair put into production by Vitra. However, due to technical restraints this first model was composed of a rigid polyurethane foam with a glossy lacquer, and it was not until 1999 that the Panton chair could be made to its original conception.Formed from a single piece of durable, dyed plastic with lustrous matt finish, this version of the Panton chair has the same curvature and cantilevered frame but is now available in an expanded range of colours. An emblem of experimental 1960s furniture, this comfortable and sturdy design still looks innovative when set amongst the most stylish and modern of interiors.
